Off the M80
Rosie Lawton-Poland
To ‘be here’ in a place is to embody the spirit of the land. The residents of melton copy the appearance of where they reside, they act like the winding streets and dusty industrial estates. To be here, and to be present, is to blend with the chain wire fences, roller shutters and dirt paths. ‘Off the M80’ explores Melton as it exhales. No perfectly timed and lined up shots for newspapers on the other side of the city to gawk at, my piece explores how melton resides itself on country. The fish and chip shops, the sketchy tattoo parlours, the sprawling lakes and construction zones, Melton is a town stuck within itself, unable to escape the preconceived notions of others. My artist book explores what it means to be in Melton, burnt edges and all.
Windows that Contain Us
Janine Sequeira
A reflection on windows as frames of perception — revealing, obscuring, and shaping our sense of place & self. Though they contain us, we grow beyond their frames and borders.
Walk the Wetlands
Minuki Satharasinghe
The act of ‘noticing’ is at the core of 'Walk The Wetlands'- a risograph printed artist book with pages of varying sizes layered over each other. The book centres around a fairly mundane walking loop in my neighbourhood. The wetlands provided me with a respite from my otherwise hectic life, acting like a ‘third place’ where I was free to simply *be*. Each time I walked it I would consciously pay close attention to my surroundings in an attempt to busy my mind, which had an almost meditative quality to it. The effect created by the layered pages is one of slowed down time- honing in on moments depicted in each of the hand-drawn illustrations, highlighting movement and change, and inviting the reader to appreciate the beauty of the mundane. Each illustration is accompanied with a chalk rubbing of a textured artificial surface from the loop- acknowledging the significant human interference within a place so filled with non-human life.
Here is Home
Charlie Rutherford
To me, “Being Here” means being present. Can we truly ‘be here’ if we are still living in the past. My artist book “Here is Home” delves into the intricate relationship between presence and memory, through my hometown Sandringham. When I first moved here, I was enveloped in feelings of unease, resisting the changes that came with this unfamiliar landscape. Yet, as time has unfolded, this place has morphed from a place of discomfort to a cherished home. Sandringham and the people here act as a mirror, reflecting my identity through my interactions and time here. Like the ocean, my life here is fluid. It recedes, flows and rises at various paces, in a constant state of transformation.

Still, Life 01
Kodi Oke
Stil,Life is an inventory of present musings - a collection of curiosities intended to inspire reflection and creative exploration. It is a slow meander through small pleasures. Printed and handbound by Kodi Oke the zine is an extension of her irl still-life sessions that invite the audience to connect with the intricacies of the world around them and use these moments as starting points for creation. Still, Life intends to bring the seemingly insignificant to the forefront, and in doing so acknowledges that sometimes small acts of craft, care, and connection are the most important.
The Star
Alice Nicholls & Neha De Alwis
A zine that collages together two twin poems about being alive. Set against a backdrop of stars, clouds, skies, earth, and wandering celestial bodies, The Star asks the reader to peer at the world through animal eyes. The Star wants you to breathe slower. To linger in earthly pleasures. To be gentle to this world. To let it be gentle to you. The Star wants you to love the world a little louder.
Walking Thoughts
Emily Shaw
"Walking Thoughts" is a zine capturing the raw essence of morning strolls. It delves into the intricate interplay between landscapes and the human psyche, exploring the types of contemplation inspired by each view and step. From mysterious fog to the silent beams of light, it represents the connection between mind and environment and the importance of stepping away from something for a second to evolve. This zine invites readers to escape from a screen and cherish the simplicity of natural landscapes and the profound insights found in every step.

There is so much in our lives where we sometimes focus on bigger things and forget those smaller moments—those moments where, despite nothing significant happening, we just feel happy. For my zine, I wanted to capture these smaller moments of our lives. Random yet meaningful, small yet capable of making us smile. It's important for us to remember and acknowledge them because every moment of our lives defines us, even the small ones. It doesn't matter if it's a photo, an object, or writing; it shows how far we've come. It's a record of our lives. Our exsistence in this vast universe.
Homesick Peach
